Allow me, on behalf of the participants of the Conference to thank the Government of the Republic of Djibouti for the warm hospitality accorded to participants since our arrival in the city Djibouti to take part in the Conference on Landmines and for organizing this timely and very important regional conference. Our gratitude also goes to all workers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Djibouti and the Institute for Practical Training and Research (IPR).

Your Excellency Mr. Minister,

The Conference was very important in many aspects. It enabled us to enrich our knowledge and information on landmines in the region. It creates an opportunity to strengthen networks among governmental and non-governmental institutions and to enhance cooperation and partnership to collectively tackle challenges posed by landmines .

In this regard, the participants believe that the guidance contained in the welcoming remarks made by H.E. Ali Abdi Farah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Djibouti inispired us to achieve the goals of the Conference. Thus, allow me, on behalf of the participants, to express our deep gratitude to H.E. Mr Ali Abdi Farah for his valuable guidance

I would like to note that the participants exerted necessary efforts and demonstrated collective spirit to make the Conference a success. Moreover, I would like to assure your excellency that the participants would exert maximum efforts to bring to the attention of relevant agencies the outcome of the Conference in their respective countries.

Once again, allow me to thank the Government of the Republic of Djibouti for hosting the Conference and donor countries and agencies for supporting the Conference and for their support in mine action.
