The Institute for Practical Research and Training and the International Community Development Foundation (ICDF) are pleased to announce the publication of "Somaliland" a book of photographs and essays on Somaliland by Barbara Euser and Patrick Lagès. 

The essays written by Barbara Euser of ICDF (in English and French) cover Somaliland's culture and history with emphasis on recent (1991-2001) political and social developments. The book is 128 pages and includes 64 photographs taken by Patrick Lagès in Somaliland during a five-month long stay at IPRT in 2000.  It is published by the Writers Center of Marin, San Rafael, California.

The new publication will be available on May 30, 2002 from IPRT.  To order please send e-mail to ahesa@rocketmail.com.  In Somaliland the book can be obtained at the Business Technology Center (BTEC), Hassan Rakoub Building or from IPRT.  Price $25.00 (US) plus shipping.

Proceeds from the sale of the book will benefit IPRT’s programs. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Abdulrahman Nero Scholarship Fund to support students in Somaliland's universities.
